Verification and Validation

Verification refers to the manual process of checking deliverables (output) against requirements (input); while Validation refers to the automated process of checking a digital deliverable (e.g. BIModel) or physical outcome (e.g. a product or a whole building) for consistency/errors or against Information Requirements. Note: depending on the context or industry, the two terms may be used interchangeably or may carry different connotations
